enzyme 1.0 (2022)
This exhibition ‘My Desire to Consume’ was presented through the installation Enzyme 1.0.
Created in collaboration with Kapilan Naidu as “jo+kapi”. With thanks to Kathleen Ditzig who helped co-produce and write for this exhibition.
A critical response to the local hype around NFT Art in 2021, Enzyme 1.0 is a program developed by Joanne Ho and Kapilan Naidu that emulates how digital art is sold on the blockchain. The program ‘digests’ the artwork every time it is traded. Over time and with more trades, the original digital file/artwork is degraded to the point that it disappears altogether.
Exhibited at Grey Projects, Singapore from 12 January - 12 February 2022. This exhibition included works from Fyerool Darma, Debbie Ding, jo+kapi, Jennifer Mehigan, Andreas Schlegel and Tisya Wong.
